My client is based in Constantia Kloof, Johannesburg.  They are looking for a Senior Developer that would be responsible for researching the company’s existing IT systems, procedures and infrastructures. This person will also be responsible for maintaining existing software; recommending and developing new desktop applications and utilities that can be used to improve upon them. When required, to undertake and be involved in research and recommendations related to the upgrading and replacement of IT Software Infrastructures to meet the future requirements of the company.

Responsibilities:

·Consult with management regarding needs and objectives of system.

·Research new software for the Company

·Work out new system requirements and specifications.

·Maintain existing software and expand them to meet Company requirements and design specifications.

·Develop new software, which includes desktop applications and utilities as per requirement of the company.

·Ensure timeous and accurate implementation of new software.

·Ensure accurate and correct maintenance of current and new software to deliver upon existing service requirements.

·Test new systems with users and fine tune when necessary.

·Undertake upgrading of software when necessary. 

·Designs and codes superior technical solutions.

·Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.

·Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

·Consistently delivers high-quality services to clients.

·Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize them appropriately

Qualifications:

·Related tertiary qualification beneficial. International MCSD / MCAD Certification

·3-4 years experience within related field (.NET Development)

Preferred Knowledge And Skills:

·Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/8 with V.B. Net 2005/8 and .Net Framework 2/3.5

·Relational Database Design

·Possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database in an Micrsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 Environment

·Advanced SQL Query Building

·Microsoft Office Suite Applications

·Advanced Programming & Error Handling Procedures and Techniques
