Hybrid role
My client in Rosebank is looking for a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and compliance. This role requires a strategic thinker who can provide financial insights to support the organisation’s mission and goals. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Exco and Fund Development Teams as well as Funders to ensure financial stability and transparency. Experience at a senior level at an NGO will be an advantage, but is not a must.
Key responsibilities include managing the annual budget process, preparing financial statements, overseeing funding management and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations as well as overseeing the organisation’s annual audit. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex financial information to the Board of Trustees. This is a critical role that requires a proactive approach to financial management and a commitment to the values and mission of our organisation.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and reporting, risk management, payroll and general office administration
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Experience with Pastel Partner Accounting Package and Sage Payroll Systems, or equivalent
- Understanding of local regulatory requirements of IFRS
- Good understanding of statutory submissions and compliance
Abilities:
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong financial background
- Proficient in written and verbal English
- Excellent time management skills
- Good team player as well as having the ability to work independently
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fluid environment
Some Duties:
- Manage staff members of Finance Division
- Responsible for internal controls, policies and procedures
- Perform detailed check of the posting process and reconciliations
- Responsible for Tax compliance
- Monitor VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns
- Prepare monthly cashflow
- Prepare monthly Management Accounts
- Present Financial Results at Exco, Management and Trustee Meetings
- Prepare Financial Reports for donors
- Assist Fund Development Team with Financial Budgets and Reports for inclusion in Funding Proposals
- Complete BEE Certificate
- Complete COIDA Return
- Complete DSD Submission
- Complete Annual Income Tax Return
This is a hybrid role and will require you to be in the office about 3 times a week.
Salary is from CTC R55 000 – R75 000pm
