Technical Manager

Location: Randburg, Johannesburg

A well-established company in the electronic security and automation industry is seeking a hands-on Technical Manager to lead and coordinate its technical team in Johannesburg.

This role is suited to a technically strong leader from either the security or broader electronics sector who thrives in an operational, field-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and train installation teams (formal and on-site training)

• Provide technical troubleshooting and on-site support when required

• Plan and allocate daily jobs, including route and stock coordination

• Monitor team progress and ensure accurate job documentation

• Maintain high installation standards and technical best practices

• Oversee vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure safety and operational readiness

• Ensure staff are properly equipped with safety gear and tools

• Liaise with suppliers to stay current with new technologies and product developments

• Assist with technical input on quotations when required

Requirements

• Strong technical background in electronics (security systems experience advantageous but not essential)

• Proven experience supervising or coordinating technical teams

• Practical, hands-on leadership style

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously
